Our Story

Salting nuts since 1958.

Mort Bramwell believed his father deserved better than reaching for two snacks with two hands. We have spent sixty-eight years proving him correct.

The original cannery sat on a quiet block in Springfield, USA. Mort purchased it with a small loan from his uncle and a handshake from a vending-machine wholesaler who, on the day of the sale, was already retired in everything but title.

By 1962 the can had reached every gas station between Cleveland and Pittsburgh. By 1971 it had reached the moon — not officially, but via the lunchbox of a NASA technician who has asked not to be named. By 1989 we had been written up in three trade journals and one regional newspaper.

Today the company is run by Mort's grandson, Cliff. The cannery is the same cannery. The gum is the same gum. The nuts come from the same suppliers, who themselves are mostly the same people. We do not believe in tampering with what works.
